Permissions & Workspaces

What you see when configuring feeds depends entirely on the connected Asana user account. The plugin cannot display or use anything the connected user doesn’t have access to.

Access and Visibility #

  • Only projects, sections, tags, custom fields, and users the connected account can access will show in dropdowns.
  • If something seems missing, the most common reason is that the connected user does not have permission in Asana to view it.

Default Workspace Behavior #

  • Tasks are created in the connected user’s default workspace unless a feed specifies a different project.
  • If a task fails and a backup task is created, it is always placed in the default workspace with no project assignment.

Multi‑Workspace Support #

  • At present, the plugin operates in the connected user’s default workspace.
  • Multi‑workspace selection is planned for a future release, allowing you to target other workspaces the connected user belongs to.

What To Do #

  • Make sure the connected account has access to the projects, fields, and assignees you need.
  • If you manage multiple workspaces, keep in mind that only the default one is currently available.
  • For missing items, confirm in Asana directly whether the connected user can see them. If not, update their permissions there first.
