Using a BrightLeaf Digital Plugin on a Client Site

Can I use the plugin on client sites?

Absolutely! If you’re an agency or freelancer, you can install and manage our plugin on client sites without exposing your billing or account details. Freemius includes a built‑in white‑label mode that hides sensitive information inside the client’s WP Admin.

What your client will (and won’t) see

When white‑label is enabled, the client’s Account screen inside WP Admin will hide:

  • Your user profile and contact info
  • Billing details and invoices
  • The full license key
  • Pricing and upgrade prompts
  • “Contact Us” links that route to your account

It also restricts risky actions, such as canceling a subscription or changing a plan from the client site.

How it works (quick overview)

Freemius adds an Account area inside WP Admin where licenses, billing, and subscriptions are normally visible. This can be found in the This can be found in the GravityOps → Plugin Name → Account tab. With white‑label enabled, those details are concealed and sensitive actions are limited — perfect for client hand‑offs.

How to enable white‑label

From WP Admin: After activating the license on a client site, navigate to the Account page and click the link in the admin notice to activate white‑label so the site is hand‑off ready.

From your Customer Portal: Navigate to the Licenses tab, select the license and check “This license is activated on my client(s) site(s)” to hide sensitive details on that site’s Account page.

Need to make a change later?

To adjust account or billing details while white-label is on, click Start Debug on the site’s Account page and enter the license key to unlock all options for the license holder.
Debug mode auto-disables after 60 minutes, or you can end it immediately by clicking Stop Debug.

To turn white-label off (revert) and show your details again:

From the Customer Portal: Open the license and uncheck “This license is activated on my client(s) site(s).”

From WP Admin: Use the white-label admin notice that appears on the client site immediately after enabling white-label and click revert it now.

Extra protection for agencies

Use URL Whitelisting (aka “License Firewall”) to control which domains can activate a license and keep receiving updates — handy when you manage many client installs.

Good to know

  • Best practice: Enable white-label before granting the client admin access, so billing and license details are never exposed.
  • White‑label mode is designed for agency and multi‑site workflows.
  • You can toggle white‑label on or off from WP Admin, your Customer Portal, or the Developer Dashboard.
  • Combine white‑label with URL Whitelisting for stronger license control.

Bottom line

Yes — you can use the plugin on client sites. Enable white‑label to keep your billing and license private while you manage everything cleanly and securely.
