Our latest update to Mass Email Notifications for Gravity Forms introduces two powerful Premium tools that bring your email strategy up to professional standards: Unsubscribe Preferences and Double Opt-In.

These features make it easy to comply with global email laws, maintain a clean list, and build stronger trust with your audience — all without leaving Gravity Forms.


1. Give Recipients Control with Unsubscribe Preferences

The new Unsubscribe and Preferences system lets you stay compliant and respectful of recipients’ inboxes. You can now give every email a simple way for users to opt out, pause, or manage their preferences — automatically.

Recipients can now unsubscribe or update their preferences with one click. You decide whether that means a simple global unsubscribe or a branded, user-friendly preferences experience.


2. Confirm Consent with Double Opt-In

Double Opt-In gives your subscribers an extra step of verification — ensuring only real, interested users are added to your list. When enabled, new sign-ups receive an email containing a confirmation link. Only once they click it will they be marked as fully subscribed and eligible to receive your mass emails.

How It Works:

  1. A user submits your Sign-Up Form.
  2. A notification email (from that same form) includes a Double Opt-In merge tag — either {menfgf_double_opt_in_link} or {menfgf_double_opt_in_url}.
  3. When clicked, the system marks the matching entry in your CRM or target form as confirmed.
  4. You can then use the “Send only to double opt-in entries” checkbox on your sending form to include only verified subscribers.

You can even send a “Welcome” or “Email Confirmed” follow-up using the new Double Opt-In notification trigger that’s automatically added to your Sign-Up Form.

Why It Matters:

  • Keeps your sender reputation clean by eliminating spammy or mistyped emails.
  • Meets consent and anti-spam standards (GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, etc.).
