Each feed has settings that control how it is identified, whether recipients are deduplicated, and whether you receive a completion email once a batch finishes.
Name / Label #
- Name: The internal name you give the feed. Helps you recognize it in the admin.
- Label with Merge Tags: The label shown on batches can include merge tags. Example:
Donor Update – 09/16/2025
will display the actual submission date in the batch list.
Deduplication #
- Enable Dedupe: Prevents the same email address from receiving multiple copies in a single batch.
- Most Recent Entry Rule: If the same address exists in multiple entries, only the most recent entry is used to fill merge tags.
- Allow Duplicates: Turn off dedupe if you want every entry to send, even if addresses repeat. You may want this if you’re sending emails based on entry data (via merge tags) and even older entries are still relevant.
Completion Email #
- You can opt to receive an email once a batch is fully processed.
- The completion email includes the feed name/label and the number of recipients processed.
- Useful for long-running batches or scheduled campaigns where you may not be watching the dashboard.
- You can configure the recipient address, but by default it sends to the site admin. This email is also used if certain errors occur during batch processing that can’t be logged otherwise, to give visibility (though this should rarely, if ever, happen).
These feed-level settings keep your campaigns organized, prevent unintentional duplicates, and optionally notify you when jobs are done.
